Help Now Healthcare is following the guidance of Public Health Ontario in regards to the management of COVID-19. Our Senior Management team members are actively involved with the Ministry of Health and Home Care Ontario, staying up-to-date with emerging information about the virus.

As a community health care provider Help Now Healthcare continues to provide essential health care services to our clients.

Help Now Healthcare is working diligently to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by continuing to use rigorous infection control practices and by screening all clients, families, staff using the screening tool from Public Health Ontario prior to client visits, facility visits, or client transfers.

Help Now Healthcare is screening all employees returning to work after leave or travel and communicating with them regarding regular health guidance and updates from the Ministry of Health.

Any staff or clients with symptoms or history of recent travel are being asked to self-isolate to protect themselves and those around them.

At Help Now Healthcare we have created our own urgency team in accordance to Public Health Ontario’s guidance to be better prepared to provide safe and effective care to communities and facilities. COVID-19 FAQs for Clients, Families, Staff, Future Applicants

Q: Are you continuing to provide service during the pandemic?

A: Our nurses, PSWs, senior companions and medical transfer attendants provide vital health care services to clients. Presently our health care services remain uninterrupted during COVID-19.

Q: Are Help Now employees working in both clients’ homes and long-term/retirement homes?

A: Help Now Healthcare employees are only working in one healthcare setting, either in a facility or in patients’ homes to keep patients safe. Every patient/household is being screened by staff prior to each visit regardless of setting.

Q: What extra precautions is Help Now Healthcare implementing to keep clients safe?

A: The safety of our clients, families and our staff is our number one priority. We are closely following the guidance of Public Health Ontario as it relates to the management of COVID-19. These procedures include having our employees practice rigorous hand hygiene, wearing Personal Protective Equipment which may include mask, gloves, gown and safety glasses and screening patients before each visit. Help Now Healthcare is providing its staff with PPE and hand sanitizer regularly.

Q: What screening tool is Help Now Healthcare using?

A: Our staff is using the Ministry of Health screening tool which includes questions about travel, symptoms of COVID-19, and contact with a probable or confirmed case of COVID-19. Help Now Healthcare staff screen themselves each day and ask each patient prior to visit all screener questions.

Q: What should I do if I or someone in my household feels unwell?

A: If you or anyone in your household is experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 (shortness of breath, fever or cough) please contact Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000 right away.

Q: What happens if a member of our household is in self quarantine?

A: Our employees have screener questions for the patients and their household. The employee will notify their supervisor should a member of the patient’s household be in self quarantine or have confirmed or potential (test results pending) case of COVID-19.

Q: What should members of my household do when Help Now staff are providing service?

A: We ask that while our staff is in your home providing care, please ensure that members of your household practice social distancing and wear a mask or face covering. If possible we ask all members of your household to stay in a different room of the house while our staff is present.
