In practice that comes down to matching the right caregiver to the right client. It is the least glamorous part of this work and the part that decides whether care succeeds or quietly falls apart.
Quality assurance
Retaining good caregivers matters more than recruiting lots of them. These are the things we actually do.
Comprehensive screening
Health screening and a police vulnerable sector check are completed before hiring, not after a placement has already started.
Orientation and evaluation
Facility-specific orientation before a first shift, then performance evaluation rather than assuming it is going fine.
Ongoing education
Continuing training and reflective workshops for every employee, including the mandatory AODA, WHMIS, health and safety and workplace violence modules.
Regulated supervision
Care is planned and overseen by regulated health professionals, who hold their own individual registration with their Ontario college.
Insured, both ways
Help Now Healthcare carries professional and general liability insurance, and our employees are covered by WSIB.
Payroll handled properly
We contribute Employment Insurance and Canada Pension Plan on our employees’ behalf, as required by the CRA.
How we operate
We work within federal and provincial law and the professional standards that govern the people we employ. Where a role is regulated — RNs and RPNs under the College of Nurses of Ontario, for example — we verify current registration directly with the college before that person works a shift.
