Most healthcare staffing agencies stop at nurses and personal support workers. A long-term care home, hospital or clinic does not — it needs a physiotherapist, a medical radiation technologist, a pharmacy technician, a unit clerk and somebody to run the kitchen, and each of those has its own regulator, its own credential and its own small candidate pool.
We recruit across all of it. These are permanent, direct-hire placements: we run the search, verify the registration, and you make the hire. Shift-by-shift and block coverage is something we provide for nursing and personal support, where we hold the roster to do it — and we would rather say that plainly than imply we can cover an imaging shift at short notice.
What we recruit
Therapy and rehabilitation
- Physiotherapists and physiotherapist assistants
- Occupational therapists and OTAs
- Speech-language pathologists and communicative disorders assistants
- Respiratory therapists
- Recreation and therapeutic recreation staff
- Kinesiologists
Who registers them: College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, CASLPO, the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario and the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
Diagnostic imaging and laboratory
- Medical radiation technologists — X-ray, CT and MRI
- Diagnostic medical sonographers
- Medical laboratory technologists and assistants
- Phlebotomists
- ECG and cardiology technologists
- Sterile processing technicians
Who registers them: CMRITO for radiation and imaging, CMLTO for laboratory. Sonography and sterile processing follow their own certification routes rather than a college.
Pharmacy
- Pharmacists
- Registered pharmacy technicians
- Pharmacy assistants
Who registers them: Ontario College of Pharmacists, which registers both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
Physicians and advanced practice
- Family physicians and hospitalists
- Specialists, including geriatrics and palliative medicine
- Nurse practitioners
- Physician assistants
Who registers them: CPSO for physicians, the College of Nurses of Ontario for nurse practitioners. Physician appointments almost always also run through a hospital or organization credentialing committee, and billing arrangements are separate again.
Social work, mental health and community
- Social workers and social service workers
- Registered psychotherapists
- Case managers and care coordinators
- Child and youth workers
- Community outreach and program staff
Who registers them: OCSWSSW for social work, CRPO for psychotherapy.
Administration, dietary and support
- Unit clerks and ward clerks
- Medical office administrators and schedulers
- Registered dietitians and dietary aides
- Environmental services and housekeeping
- Porters and general support
- Food service workers
Who registers them: Dietitians register with the College of Dietitians of Ontario. Most other roles in this group are unregulated, which makes reference and background checking the real safeguard.
Credentialing is most of the job
The difference between a good allied health placement and a bad one is almost never the interview. It is whether the person is actually registered, in good standing, in the right class, for the role you are hiring them into — and whether anyone checked the public register rather than a photocopy. Ontario has a separate college for nearly every profession on this page, each with its own public register, and the checks are not interchangeable. We verify by name and registration number before a candidate reaches your shortlist, and we tell you which roles have no register at all.
How a search runs
- We start with the job, not the title. A physiotherapist in a 160-bed long-term care home does different work from one in an outpatient clinic, and the wrong match leaves within the year.
- Compensation gets settled first. Ontario has required pay ranges in job postings since 1 January 2026, so the number has to exist anyway. Searches stall most often because it was never agreed internally.
- Registration is verified before the shortlist, not after the offer.
- References are taken from people who supervised the work, not from whoever was easiest to reach.
- Terms are in writing before interviews begin — fee, guarantee period, and what happens if a hire does not stay.
Questions from hiring managers
Do you fill these roles on a shift basis too, or only permanently?
For these roles we do permanent placement. Shift-by-shift and block coverage is something we provide for nursing and personal support, where we hold the roster to do it. If somebody tells you they can cover an MRI shift tonight, ask them how.
How do you verify that someone is actually registered?
Against the public register of the college that governs the role, by name and registration number, at the time of placement — not by taking a copy of a certificate at face value. Each group above names the college that applies. For unregulated roles there is no register, so references and background checks carry the weight instead, and we say so rather than implying an oversight that does not exist.
We are a small home and cannot pay a large placement fee.
Tell us the budget before the search rather than after the shortlist. Fees, guarantee periods and what happens if a hire does not work out should all be in writing before anyone is interviewed. We would rather decline a search than run one you cannot afford to conclude.
Can you help with internationally educated professionals?
We work with candidates wherever they qualified, but registration in Ontario is decided by the college, not by us, and the process differs by profession and can take a long time. We will tell you honestly where a candidate is in that process instead of presenting somebody as ready to start when they are not.
Do you recruit physicians?
Yes, and it is a longer process than the other roles on this page. Beyond CPSO registration there is usually a credentialing committee, hospital privileges and billing arrangements to settle. Anyone promising a quick physician placement is describing something other than what actually happens.
