Healthcare staffing in Toronto
RNs, RPNs and PSWs for long-term care homes, retirement residences, hospitals and community programs across Toronto — from Etobicoke to Scarborough, and the older downtown buildings in between.

Where we cover around Toronto
Toronto is a set of very different staffing markets wearing one name. These are the parts of the city we work in most.
- Downtown and the core — including the older buildings where access, parking and after-hours entry genuinely affect who will take a shift.
- North York — Willowdale, Don Mills, Bathurst Manor and the Sheppard corridor.
- Scarborough — Agincourt, Malvern, Guildwood, Bendale and the Kingston Road corridor.
- Etobicoke — Islington, Rexdale, Mimico, Long Branch and The Kingsway.
- East York and York — Leaside, Danforth, Weston and Mount Dennis.
- The west and east ends — the Junction, Parkdale, Riverdale and the Beaches.
Coverage in any given neighbourhood depends on who we hold near it, not on a map. Ask us about your site specifically and you will get a straight answer.
What staffing in Toronto actually looks like
Toronto is our deepest market for candidates and also the most competitive one. That cuts both ways: on most days we can put a name to a shift quickly, and on the days everyone is short, so is everyone else.
The practical detail people underestimate is access. Parking, transit at 23:00, and whether a night entrance is staffed change who accepts a Toronto shift far more than the rate does. Tell us those things when you send the request and your fill rate improves immediately.
If you run more than one site in the city, say so. Building a small group of workers who know two or three of your buildings is worth more than a bigger list of people who know none of them.
Roles we supply
Registered Nurses
Charge shifts, admissions and assessments, IV and complex wound care, unstable or declining residents.
Registered Practical Nurses
Medication and treatment rounds, assisted living and memory care, stable populations.
Personal Support Workers
Personal care, transfers, feeding, mobility and restorative programs.
Temporary and agency shifts
Single shifts, recurring lines, block bookings, vacancy cover, outbreak and surge.
Permanent recruitment
Direct-hire searches, including converting an agency worker you have already seen on your floor.
How we work with facilities
Settings we staff, who is responsible for what, credentialing and privacy.
Verified before the first shift, not after it
Every worker we place has been through the same file before they are offered to you.
- Government photo identification and proof of eligibility to work in Canada.
- Current registration and standing confirmed directly on the College of Nurses of Ontario register, where the role is regulated — not from a document the candidate hands us.
- Police vulnerable sector check completed and reviewed.
- References spoken to, from previous supervisors.
- Immunization and health records on file and kept current for the settings we place into.
- AODA, WHMIS, worker health and safety awareness and workplace violence and harassment training, plus orientation to your site.
Questions from Toronto coordinators
Can you cover a downtown site with no parking?
Yes, but tell us up front. We match the shift to workers who commute by transit and we schedule start times that are actually reachable. A shift that quietly assumes a car is the most common reason a downtown fill falls through.
Can you cover sites in Scarborough and Etobicoke on the same night?
Yes, they are staffed from different parts of our roster. What we will not do is send one person across the city between two shifts and call it coverage.
Are the workers employed by you?
Yes. Payroll, source deductions, WSIB coverage and Employment Standards Act entitlements sit with Help Now Healthcare, not with your organization.
What happens if someone does not show?
One number, answered 24/7. A coordinator re-fills it, and if we cannot, you hear that from us immediately rather than at handover.
Do you also provide home care in Toronto?
Yes, that is our other side of the business — personal support, nursing visits, respite and overnight care in private homes. Home care in Toronto
